Transatlantic Connections in Mass Consumption

Two-week course unit

Category: Lesson Plan

This suggested two-week course unit is intended to be used in an upper-level undergraduate course in history (transatlantic history, history of consumption, transatlantic relations).

The goal of this unit outline is to form a basis for introducing students to the history of mass consumption in the twentieth century and to help generate discussion about the convergences and persistent differences between consumption in the United States and in Western Europe.

Educators should feel free to pick and choose the documents and topics that best serve the aims of their course.
