Jan Logemann, Ph.D.

Research Fellow and Research Group Coordinator, German Historical Institute

Jan Logemann is the project coordinator of Transatlantic Perspectives: Europe in the Eyes of European Immigrants to the United States. He studied modern German and U.S. history at Pennsylvania State University and Humboldt University in Berlin as well as at the Free University's John-F.-Kennedy Institute. As of April 2014 he is affiliated with the Institute for Economic and Social History at the University of Goettingen.

Andreas Joch

Doctoral Fellow in Residence, German Historical Institute

Andreas Joch is a Doctoral Fellow in Residence at the GHI. He studied modern and medieval history as well as political science at the University of Giessen and University College Cork. His main areas of interest comprise modern urban and migration history.

Barbara Louis (Reiterer)

Doctoral Fellow in Residence, German Historical Institute

Barbara Louis (Reiterer) was a Doctoral Fellow in Residence at the German Historical Institute from September 2010 to August 2012, and is still affiliated with the project. She studied sociology at the University of Vienna, where she worked as a researcher in social gerontology for several years.

Corinna Ludwig

Doctoral Fellow in Residence, German Historical Institute

Corinna Ludwig is a Doctoral Fellow in Residence at the GHI. She studied Economic and Social History, German Language and Literature as well as Medieval and Modern History at Göttingen University.

Lauren Shaw

Website Coordinator and Project Associate, German Historical Institute

Lauren Shaw provides research and editorial support for the Transatlantic Perspectives project and manages the project website. She is also a student at the University College London where she is pursuing a master's in global migration. Previously, she studied International Relations and German at the College of William & Mary and the University of Leipzig, and worked as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Carinthia, Austria.

Ashley Narayan

Website Coordinator and Project Assistant, German Historical Institute

Ashley Narayan provides programmatic support for the Transatlantic Perspectives research group.  She is also the editor and manager of the Transatlantic Perspectives website.  She has studied at the Free University and Humboldt University in Berlin. Ashley received her M.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University and her B.A. in Politics and in German from Brandeis University.

Todd Nesson

Project Intern / Research Assistant, German Historical Institute

Todd Nesson was an intern in June 2011.  He provided research assistance for Transatlantic Perspectives. He received his History/Government Interdisciplinary Study Degree from Muhlenberg College.
